Japan's Defense Ministry: Russian Navy ships sail into East China Sea NHK

Japan's Defense Ministry says four Russian Navy ships have sailed into the East China Sea. The ministry believes that the vessels will take part in joint drills with the Chinese navy in the sea.

The ministry confirmed that the Russian warships, including a missile cruiser and a destroyer, traveled south in the Sea of Japan from Tuesday to Wednesday and passed through the Tsushima Strait.

Russia's defense ministry earlier announced that its naval forces will conduct joint drills with the Chinese navy in the East China Sea from Wednesday to next Tuesday.
