Japan's Defense Ministry says four Russian Navy ships have sailed into the East China Sea. The ministry believes that the vessels will take part in joint drills with the Chinese navy in the sea. The ministry confirmed that the Russian warships, including a missile cruiser and a destroyer, traveled south in the Sea of Japan from Tuesday to Wednesday and passed through the Tsushima Strait. Russia's defense ministry earlier announced that its naval forces will conduct joint drills with the Chinese navy in the East China Sea from Wednesday to next Tuesday. The ministry said the exercises will include joint anti-submarine warfare and training for missile launches. Japanese defense officials are closely monitoring the situation.
