Iranian authorities have arrested a prominent Iranian actress for allegedly instigating anti-government riots.
                
Iranian state-run TV reported on Saturday that Taraneh Alidoosti was arrested on charges of spreading falsehoods about nationwide protests.
                
Alidoosti starred in &quot;The Salesman,&quot; which won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2017.
                
She posted a photo of herself on social media holding a sign reading &quot;Woman, Life, Freedom,&quot; a common slogan in the protests.
                
The anti-government demonstrations erupted in September after a woman died in police custody. She had been arrested for allegedly not wearing her headscarf properly.
                
On December 8, Iranian authorities made the first announcement of the execution of a protester.
                
Alidoosti posted a comment that &quot;every international organization, who is watching this bloodshed and not taking action, is a disgrace to humanity.&quot;
