An NHK staff member in the Gaza Strip has obtained footage taken at one of the main hospitals there. The video shows children apparently wounded by Israeli airstrikes being carried into the facility.
Mohammed Shehada obtained the footage, filmed on Thursday night.
Another video taken on Sunday shows many people gathering in front of the hospital. Shehada says the displaced people who have nowhere to go are trying to seek refuge there.
An official of the International Committee of the Red Cross called the situation catastrophic. The official said the hospital lacks adequate fuel to remain operational and medical supplies to save lives.
The official added that ambulances cannot reach airstrike victims due to the safety risks faced by the first responders.
The Israeli military has been urging residents of northern parts of the enclave, including Gaza City, to evacuate to southern areas.
A military spokesperson posted a message in Arabic on social media on Saturday, telling residents that Hamas is using them as human shields.
The World Health Organization has denounced Israel, saying, "The forced evacuation of patients and health workers will worsen the current humanitarian situation and public health catastrophe." It says the action "could be tantamount to a death sentence."
