Banksy sells new artworks to raise money for people in Ukraine NHK

Graffiti artist Banksy is selling new works whose proceeds will support needy people in Ukraine.

The artist made the announcement on Friday in a social media post featuring a screen-print of a rat.

The rodent appears to be sliding down a surface that reads "FRAGILE," scratching through the first two letters, leaving only "AGILE."

Banksy wrote, "I've made 50 of these screenprints with all proceeds going to our friends in Ukraine."

The artwork will be sold at 5,000 pounds, or about 6,100 dollars each. The funds will be given to the charity, Legacy of War Foundation, now working in Ukraine.

The organization says it will purchase vehicles to evacuate civilians from eastern Ukraine, and provide generators and gas heaters to communities without electricity.

Last month Banksy created seven murals in and around Ukraine's capital.

In a video showing the creation process, the artist expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
