Iran moves ahead with nuclear development after IAEA resolution NHK

Iran says it is moving ahead with its nuclear development program in reaction to a UN nuclear watchdog resolution.

The International Atomic Energy Agency's board adopted a resolution last Thursday, calling on Tehran to cooperate with its investigation into traces of nuclear material found at undeclared sites in the country between 2019 and 2020.

The board said Iran's cooperation was insufficient, and urged it to give IAEA investigators access to the sites and allow them to take samples.

On Tuesday, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization announced that it started to enrich uranium to 60 percent purity at its facility in Fordow in the country's central region.
Iran is already enriching uranium to the same purity level at its Natanz facility, also in the central region.

The nuclear deal of 2015 sets the upper limit of enrichment at 3.67 percent.

Tehran insists that the IAEA should stop its investigation.
