Japan is providing financial aid and technical expertise for the removal of debris, leveraging its experience from tsunami and earthquake cleanup efforts in their own country. Specifically, Japan has given around six million dollars to the UNDP for a recycling facility in Gaza, where debris is crushed into smaller pieces for road reconstruction and other purposes.
