Japan reports fewest new daily COVID cases this year NHK

Japan's health ministry says 3,368 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed across the country on Monday. That's the fewest new daily cases so far this year.

The ministry also confirmed 27 deaths.

Among the 47 prefectures, Tokyo has the most new cases at 313, down 22 from a week ago.

The number of seriously ill patients is 111 nationwide, with seven of them in Tokyo.
