Republicans in 15 US states to vote on 'Super Tuesday' NHK

Fifteen US states will soon hold primaries and caucuses on "Super Tuesday" in the Republican nomination race for the US presidential election in November.

Former President Donald Trump is the frontrunner in the battle to be the Republican presidential candidate. So far, he has nine victories in eight states and the US Virgin Islands. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has won the primary in the District of Columbia.

The average approval rating from nationwide opinion polls shows Trump leading Haley by over 60 points.
