The British defense ministry says the average daily number of Russian military casualties reached a new high in October.
In a social media post on Monday, the ministry cites the Ukrainian General Staff as saying that the daily average was 1,354.
It also says the average daily number of Russia's dead or wounded in the first 12 days of November was 1,498, indicating that this upward trajectory is likely to continue.
The ministry points out that Russia has increased the frequency of offensive operations in the western region of Kursk, as well as several other fronts. Ukrainian troops are engaged in cross-border offensives in Kursk.
Meanwhile, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh on Monday said the US Defense Department's assessment of Russian casualties is roughly 1,200 per day.
