The Japanese government has posted a video on social media to show the gifts Prime Minister Kishida Fumio gave to US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

The gifts were presented when Kishida and his wife, Yuko, were invited to the White House on Tuesday.

Among them was a pair of coffee cups, traditional Wajima lacquerware from Ishikawa Prefecture. The area was devastated by the major earthquake on New Year's Day.

In the video posted on X, formerly Twitter, Kishida explained that three young artisans made the cups. He also said the lacquerware underwent 100 processes to make them tough and heat-resistant.

The video also shows Yuko and Jill giving each other a hug.
