US Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel has praised Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio's visit to Kyiv as historic. Rahm tweeted on Tuesday that "Prime Minister Kishida is making an historic visit to Ukraine to protect the Ukrainian people and promote the universal values enshrined in the UN Charter." The ambassador also wrote that "a different and more nefarious partnership is taking shape in Moscow," referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Rahm argued that Xi is "visiting to protect Vladimir Putin from the International Criminal Court and pardon him from international public opinion against this war."
