A: Hey! Did you hear about what happened in Sydney last week? It was so sad.
B: No! What happened? Tell me!
A: There was a really awful shooting at a Hanukkah festival on Bondi Beach.
B: Oh my gosh! Seriously? How many people?
A: It was terrible. Sixteen people died, and over forty were hurt.
B: Wow. That’s…horrible. Who did it?
A: It was a father and son. They were inspired by, like, ISIS. The father died, but the son is in trouble now.
B: That's so shocking! I can't believe it.
A: Right? There was a memorial rally today. Lots of people were there.
B: Did the Prime Minister go?
A: Yeah, but some people booed him! Apparently, people are saying he hasn't done enough about antisemitism.
B: That’s tough, huh? Like, they feel he should be doing more?
A: Exactly. Someone even spoke out, saying it happened even though they warned the government.
B: That's awful! I hope they're doing something now.
A: Me too! The government is trying to make gun laws stricter and punish hate speech more harshly.
B: Good! It’s important to feel safe. It’s so sad that happened in Australia.
