Survey: Ukrainians who think Trump presidency 'bad' tripled since December NHK

An opinion poll in Ukraine finds that the percentage of people who think US President Donald Trump's administration is bad for their country has more than tripled since December 2024.



The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology on Tuesday announced the results of a survey it conducted between March 12 and 22.



The survey shows that 73 percent of respondents think it is bad for Ukraine that Trump became president. The figure more than tripled from December last year when only 21 percent gave the same answer.



Asked whether they can count on a fair peace under Trump, 55 percent said the peace will be rather, or completely unfair. That is up from 31 percent in December.



The institute says, "In Ukraine, even before 2025, there was a certain disappointment with USA actions, and the Trump administration is quite resolutely cementing the disapproving perception of the USA."
