India says it has resumed offering some of the visa services that it suspended in Canada last month. The suspension was among several tit-for-tat steps taken amid an ongoing diplomatic dispute. The conflict is over the killing of a Sikh leader on Canadian soil. The High Commission of India in Ottawa, Canada issued a press release on Wednesday. It said services for entry, business, medical and conference visas would resume on Thursday. Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar hinted that services would resume, when he spoke during a meeting several days earlier. But he also said there are concerns that Canada is still interfering in India's internal affairs. Jaishankar said, "The problems we have are with a certain segment of the Canadian politics and policies." The murder of the Sikh leader in Canada has strained relations between the two sides. Ottawa accused New Delhi of being involved in the killing. India denies the accusation. Both countries have issued travel advisories. They have also expelled some of each other's diplomats. New Delhi forced Ottawa to withdraw 41 diplomats and their families from India last week. It is unclear if the resumption of visa services will ease some of the tension between the two nations.
