US cloud-based software firm Salesforce has announced the partial recovery of its services after a glitch affected the systems of some Japanese municipalities and financial institutions.
The company said it became aware of the disruption around 3 p.m. on Friday, Japan time.
The glitch affected the disaster information systems of Ehime and Oita prefectures, preventing automatic dispatches of evacuation information and website access.
Online card loan application services were also disrupted at some financial institutions.
Salesforce says it confirmed at around 12:20 a.m. Saturday that core services had been restored.
It says it will investigate the cause of the glitch while trying to restore the remaining services.
The company posted a comment on its website apologizing for the incident.
