In Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers have beaten the New York Mets in Game 6 to clinch the National League championship. The Dodgers will now go on to the World Series for the first time in four years.

It will be the first time in 43 years for the Dodgers and the Yankees to face each other to vie for the world championship.
                
The series will open at Dodger Stadium on October 25. The team that wins four games first will be the world champion.
