Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chair of the G20 summit in New Delhi, says the meeting adopted a consensus declaration on issues facing the bloc.

He said the hard work of all the teams involved led to agreements on the document.

He offered no details on any wording about the war in Ukraine. The topic has thwarted accord in the past amid differences between Western nations and Russia.

India proposed a draft to member states and continued coordination efforts for its adoption.

Modi opened the two-day meeting on Saturday by calling on the world to "come together and, first and foremost, transform this Global Trust Deficit into global trust and confidence."

Later in the meeting, membership was granted to the African Union.

During the first session, in which food security and climate change were discussed, members exchanged opinions on support for developing and emerging economies known as the Global South.
