Local authorities say they have confirmed the deaths of 14 people and are searching for five others who are missing. They say a container used as a shelter was washed away by floodwater.

The Turkish government plans to provide about 320,000 public housing units within a year to people who have lost their homes. But 1.5 million people are still living in tents.
Weather officials say southern Turkey may also have heavy rain on Thursday. Disaster-preparedness authorities are calling on residents to continue to be on the alert for flooding and other types of disaster.
