North Korea says its leader Kim Jong Un arrived at a train station in Russia&#039;s Far East on Tuesday morning. Kim reportedly said his visit to Russia is a clear show of the &quot;strategic importance&quot; of the two countries&#039; relations.
                
Wednesday&#039;s edition of North Korea&#039;s ruling Workers&#039; Party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, said Kim arrived at Russia&#039;s Khasan train station near the border with North Korea.
                
The paper said Kim was greeted by Russian officials, including the natural resources minister, Alexander Kozlov. Kim reportedly told them that this is his first trip abroad since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
                
The paper said Kim later left for another destination, but did not specify the location.
                
The report carried photos showing Kim being accompanied by North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, defense minister Kang Sun Nam, and top military commanders.
                
Kim is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss expanding their military cooperation and other issues.
