K-pop company that manages BTS embroiled in internal row NHK

Major South Korean K-pop company Hybe says it will file a criminal complaint against the CEO of its sublabel for alleged breach of trust.

Hybe manages boy band BTS and other popular South Korean pop artists.

The company said on Thursday that an audit of its sublabel, ADOR, found evidence that its CEO, Min Hee-jin, attempted to take control of the sublabel and break away from the parent company.

ADOR manages popular girl group NewJeans. Min is a well-known producer who launched the group's career.

At a news conference on Thursday, Min tearfully denied Hybe's allegations against her.

Since the internal rift was reported early this week, stock prices of Hybe have plunged, temporarily sinking by nearly 8 percent.
