The United Nations' agency for Palestinian refugees estimates that nearly 450,000 people have been forcibly displaced from the southern Gaza city of Rafah. The Israeli military is continuing its attacks in various parts of Gaza. A Palestinian media outlet reported on Tuesday that 14 people, including children, were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Nuseirat in central Gaza. The Gaza health authorities said on Tuesday that the death toll had reached 35,173. On Monday, a UN vehicle was attacked in Rafah. One staff member was killed and another wounded. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres criticized the assault and called for a full investigation. Local authorities in Gaza blamed the Israeli military for the attack, while the military said the vehicle was hit in an area declared an active combat zone and that the incident is under review. Residents are continuing to flee from Rafah to northern areas, including Khan Younis, over concerns that Israeli forces could expand their attacks. Footage taken by a videographer at NHK's Gaza office on Sunday shows people in Rafah heading to Khan Younis on vehicles and donkey carts. Meanwhile, refugees from Rafah are setting up tents in Khan Younis, which has been heavily damaged in the conflict. The UN agency said there is no water available there. It warned of a new level of desperation, unfolding under the world's watch.
