Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has indicated to a major British newspaper that he would offer Russia a swap of Ukrainian-occupied territory in western Russia for Ukrainian territory. Zelenskyy's remark in an interview with The Guardian was published on Tuesday. He expressed readiness to withdraw troops from the western Russian region of Kursk in exchange for a return of Ukrainian territories that Russia currently occupies, if ceasefire talks take place. Ukrainian forces have been carrying out cross-border attacks in Kursk since August last year. The president said, "We will swap one territory for another," but did not specify which part of Russian-occupied land he would ask for in return. Zelenskyy also stressed the necessity of continued US military support after a possible ceasefire, saying "Without America, security guarantees cannot be complete." The Ukrainian military said Russian forces launched a total of seven ballistic missiles in the capital Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih in the east through Wednesday morning. The military also said Russia attacked with 123 drones. Zelenskyy said the attack killed one person and injured four in Kyiv. He said Russian President Vladimir Putin is not preparing for peace and continues to kill Ukrainians and destroy cities. Zelenskyy is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump soon, an apparent move that suggests holding talks on a possible ceasefire with Russia.
