The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 103 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Monday. The figure rose above 100 for the first time since October 8 last year. The daily tally nearly tripled from a week ago, increasing by 68. Monday also marked the 17th straight day of increase from a week earlier. The seven-day average ending Monday was 75.7, up 96.1 percent from a week earlier. Of the 103 people confirmed as positive, 40 had received two vaccine shots. Meanwhile, one person is in serious condition, unchanged from the day before.
