Japan's chief tariff negotiator has praised the efforts the US and UK in striking a trade deal. But he stressed that the situation with his country remains unresolved. Japanese Economic Revitalization Minister Akazawa Ryosei said: "Our stance of seeking the full removal of the series of tariffs hasn't changed. We've reiterated that Japan regrets the tariff measures against automobiles, vehicle parts, steel and aluminum products as well as reciprocal tariffs." Japan's trade minister Muto Yoji said his staff will carefully assess the deal. He said he wants to look for areas that can be brought up in talks with the US.
