The US military has reported that some of its top commanders have COVID-19. One of those infected is the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley. A Joint Staff spokesperson issued a statement on Monday. He said Milley has minor symptoms and can perform all his duties by working remotely. The US Marine Corps said on the same day that its top commander, General David Berger, has tested positive. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced that he was infected on January 2. Last week, the Defense Department increased the amount of work that can be done remotely. Anti-coronavirus protocols were strengthened in response to the rapid spread of infections across the United States.
