US, Russia top diplomats meet over Ukraine NHK

With tensions now at a fever pitch in Ukraine, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Geneva for talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

About 100 thousand Russian soldiers have massed along the border with Ukraine. US President Joe Biden has said Russia seems likely to invade, and warned of the consequences.

The US and its allies are demanding that the soldiers pull back. But the Russians want a promise that NATO will never admit Ukraine as a member.
