Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio told reporters on Thursday morning he is aware of reports from South Korea about the North's projectile launches and the government will continue to gather information. Kishida noted this is North Korea's sixth launch this year. He said it's extremely regrettable as the country has fired ballistic missiles in breach of UN Security Council resolutions, and Japan has lodged protests. Kishida added he has not received any reports so far about damage to aircraft or ships. A Japanese government official told NHK the projectiles fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone, so there is no immediate impact on Japan's national security.
