Tokyo reports 15,895 coronavirus cases NHK

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 15,895 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday.

That's about 1.7 times the figure a week earlier and is the highest ever for a Sunday.

The daily tally has now exceeded 15,000 for four consecutive days.

Officials also say the capital has 23 patients with serious symptoms, up one from a day earlier.
