The competition is getting into full swing in Beijing, with team figure skating one of the marquee events to start on Friday. But a number of big names have already been forced to withdraw due to the coronavirus.
                
The first half of the men&#039;s singles, ice dance, and pairs portions of the event were held on Friday.
                
America&#039;s Nathan Chen and Japan&#039;s Uno Shoma finished first and second in men&#039;s singles, with both posting personal-best scores.
                
The US is currently in the overall lead, with the Russian Olympic Committee in second. Hosts China are in third.
                
But in last place is Germany, whose campaign has been derailed by the coronavirus. Nolan Seegert tested positive earlier this week, and he and his partner were forced to withdraw from Friday&#039;s pairs event as a result.
                
Ukrainian skater Ivan Shmuratko had to pull out of the men&#039;s singles portion after also testing positive. Both Germany and Ukraine scored zero points in the respective categories.
                
And in skiing, one of the medal favorites has also tested positive. Norway&#039;s Olympic Committee says Jarl Magnus Riiber returned two positive tests at the Athletes&#039; Village.
                
He has won three consecutive overall World Cup titles in Nordic combined, and was the silver medalist four years ago. He now faces a race against time to compete in the first event on Wednesday.
