The opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics is now underway. Flagbearers representing more than 90 countries and territories are taking part in the event inside the National Stadium.
The venue is also known as the Bird's Nest and will be familiar to fans of the 2008 summer Games. It hosted both the opening and closing ceremonies.
These Olympics will feature a record 109 events in seven sports. But only a limited number of spectators will get the chance to cheer on the athletes in person.
Organizers did not sell tickets to the general public and are only allowing in certain groups as part of their anti-coronavirus measures.
