Controversy grows over ski jumping disqualifications NHK

Japanese ski jumper Takanashi Sara has apologized for being disqualified in her event at the games.

Takanashi posted a message on social media after Japan finished fourth in the mixed team event.

She wrote that she is deeply sorry for depriving the team of a chance to win a medal and for disappointing people.

She also said the sport of ski jumping should not create a scene of confusion, but instead share joy among the athletes.

The confusion happened on Monday night. Takanashi and four other jumpers were disqualified for violations involving their ski jumping suits.

There are many rules around the equipment used in the sport, and some say they are too strict.

Two athletes from Norway were disqualified. Their coach expressed anger over the decision.

And a jumper from Germany was also affected. She wrote on Instagram that she had never been disqualified after 11 years in the sport, and could not understand the decision.
