Hundreds of Ukrainians and Russians living in Japan gathered in front of central Tokyo's Shibuya station on Saturday to protest Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Participants sang Ukraine's national anthem, held up placards that read "Stop Putin," and chanted, "Stop the war" and "Let's save Ukraine." A woman from the Ukraine capital, Kyiv, said people in the city must stay underground, and that she is worried about her friends and family. She wept as she called for help. A Russian woman who has lived in Japan for six years said she came to protest both the war and the actions of President Vladimir Putin. She said she is ashamed of what her country has done, and that she hopes most Russians are not supporting the war.
