Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video message on Saturday that his country's army had repelled the Russian forces advancing on Kyiv. He said battles are taking place in many cities and areas in his country, but that Kyiv and cities around the capital are controlled by the Ukrainian army. Zelenskyy accused Russian forces of hitting residential areas, not just military targets, saying they are using all kinds of weapons, including missiles and fighter jets. At the end of the message, he changed his language to Russian. He thanked those who he described as conscientious Russian people for voicing their opposition to the Russian-led war. He went on to say, "We need to stop this war. We can live in peace together."
