Russian forces seize nuclear plant in Ukraine NHK

Ukraine's nuclear regulator has announced on Facebook that the country's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has been seized by the Russian military.

The authority also said the fire caused on Friday morning by Russia's attack has been put out, and that there has been no information on casualties.

The regulator noted the plant is being managed by workers as usual and is operating safely.

The Zaporizhzhia facility, located in southeastern Ukraine, is one of the largest nuclear power plants in Europe. It hosts six of the country's 15 nuclear reactors.
