Governor Koike Yuriko said, "There are various events around the end of the fiscal year, such as graduation ceremonies and farewell parties. Please cooperate in actions to reduce the risk of infection, such as refraining from dining with a large number of people for an extended time."
Across Japan, authorities reported more than 61,000 new cases on Thursday. Over 1,300 people are seriously ill.
