Bridgestone to halt production in Russia NHK

Bridgestone is joining the list of Japanese companies pausing their operations in Russia.
The tire maker says it will suspend production there from Friday.

Bridgestone has had a factory in the city of Ulyanovsk since 2016. It employs about 1,000 workers, and the company says it will continue paying their salaries.

The firm says it is becoming difficult to procure parts due to logistics disruptions.

It also says demand has slumped since the automakers they sell to have turned off their production lines.

Nissan suspended operations at its plant in Russia from Monday. Toyota has also halted production there.
