Polish, Czech, Slovenian PMs to visit Kyiv to meet Ukraine president NHK

Poland's foreign ministry has announced that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is to visit the Ukrainian capital with his counterparts from the Czech Republic and Slovenia. They will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The ministry said on Tuesday that the prime ministers of the three countries will act as representatives of the European Council.

It says the purpose of the visit is to confirm "the unequivocal support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine," as well as to "present a broad package of support for Ukraine and Ukrainians."

The announcement comes as Russia steps up its offensive against Kyiv.

Morawiecki wrote words to the following effect on his Facebook page: At crucial times such as this, it is our duty to be where history is forged.
