S.Korea: Latest N.Korean launch failed NHK

North Korea's latest launch has reportedly failed. The firing was just the latest in a string of missile tests and marked the tenth since the beginning of the year.

South Korea's military says the North launched a missile at around 9:30 am from Sunan... a suburb of Pyongyang. But it apparently failed soon after.

Japan's defense ministry had earlier reported that the projectile may have been a ballistic missile. Officials within the ministry say the previous two launches were ICBM-class missiles.

North Korean media said on Friday that leader Kim Jong Un has inspected a satellite launch site in the country's northwest.

And he instructed officials to modernize and expand its facilities.

That's prompted international concern... with countries worried the North is gearing up to fire long-range ballistic missiles.
