Russian forces are still a few hours&#039; drive from Kyiv. Ukrainian resistance has frustrated their advance. The Russian troops have responded by hitting cities with shell after shell.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, &quot;We believe that Moscow may be setting the stage to use a chemical weapon, and then falsely blame Ukraine to justify escalating its attacks on the Ukrainian people.&quot;
                
He said the Russians are trying to break the will of the people by targeting civilians, adding that the Russians could soon rely on tactics they have used before.
                
Blinken also said US experts are documenting and evaluating potential war crimes.
                
He went on to say that those efforts will help hold those responsible to account.
