Plane carrying 132 people crashes in southern China NHK

Chinese aviation authorities say a China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737 has crashed in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. The plane was carrying 132 people.

The authorities say 123 passengers and nine crewmembers were on board. The plane took off from Kunming in the region on Monday, and was headed to Guangzhou in Guangdong Province.

Rescue workers are scrambling to the crash site in Wuzhou City in the region.
