Emergency responders in China are continuing rescue operations at the crash site of a passenger plane in the southern part of the country. But details, including the number of casualties, have not been released. Security camera video shows that the plane operated by China Eastern Airlines went into an almost vertical nosedive before it crashed with 132 people on board on Monday. China's aviation authorities say the Boeing 737-800 took off from Kunming in the southern Chinese province of Yunnan and was headed for Guangzhou in Guangdong Province on Monday afternoon. It crashed in a mountainous area in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region. Chinese state media say no foreign nationals were on board. President Xi Jinping has ordered all-out efforts in the rescue operation. Flightradar24, the website of a private organization, shows flight route information such as locations and altitudes based on signals from planes. Records on the website shows the altitude of the China Eastern Airlines flight was about 9,000 meters when it suddenly plunged. Chinese authorities are trying to recover the black box, which records flight data and cockpit conversations, to investigate the cause of the crash. The government has also ordered China Eastern Airlines to ground all Boeing 737-800s.
