Emergency responders in China are continuing rescue operations at the crash site of a passenger plane in the southern part of the country. But details, including the number of casualties, have not been released.

Records on the website shows the altitude of the China Eastern Airlines flight was about 9,000 meters when it suddenly plunged.
                
Chinese authorities are trying to recover the black box, which records flight data and cockpit conversations, to investigate the cause of the crash.
                
The government has also ordered China Eastern Airlines to ground all Boeing 737-800s.
