Toyota Motor says it is still struggling to secure parts, one week after a powerful earthquake disrupted its supply chain. Japan's leading automaker says assembly lines at six of its plants will be paused until Friday. The firm initially had to limit production at 11 factories in Japan and was planning to restart on Thursday. But it says it still has not fully resolved the shortages and will need another two days to fix it. The extension will apply to eight assembly lines and is expected to affect output by about 10,000 units. The earthquake is another blow to an automaker already struggling with a global shortage of semiconductors and periodic production cuts stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.
