Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich and two Ukrainian negotiators reportedly suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning at peace talks in Kyiv in early March. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal and others, quoting sources familiar with the matter. Abramovich is said to have been serving as a broker in talks between Russia and Ukraine. The oligarch, who is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, owns the British soccer club Chelsea FC. The Wall Street Journal says Abramovich and the two Ukrainians developed red eyes, constant and painful tearing, and peeling skin on their faces and hands. It says their condition has improved, and their lives are not in danger. The investigative journalism group Bellingcat, which collaborated with the newspaper, said Abramovich and the negotiators suffered symptoms consistent with poisoning with chemical weapons. Still, The Wall Street Journal quoted a spokesperson for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as saying he had no information about any suspected poisoning. There's been no official response from Russia.
