The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has so far accepted nine Ukrainians who have fled their home country following the Russian invasion. Tokyo officials say the nine people make up three families with children. On Monday, one family of two moved into a public housing unit provided by the metropolitan government. The other two families are staying in hotel rooms secured by the metropolitan government before moving to public housing units. Tokyo officials said they have prepared 100 housing units for Ukrainian evacuees, and they also plan to provide daily necessities and educational support. Tokyo began telephone consultation services for Ukrainians on March 11. Tokyo officials said that as of Tuesday, they had received 297 inquiries on housing, financial and other support.
