In Major League Baseball, Japanese two-way star Ohtani Shohei of the Los Angeles Angels has belted his second home run of the spring training season.

Ohtani batted first in the lineup as a designated hitter against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In the morning, he got in a little pitching practice at the team's training camp in Tempe, throwing 24 pitches. Ohtani is expected to be the starting pitcher for the first time at the season opener on April 7.

Ohtani grounded out in the first inning in his first at bat and walked in the third inning.

On his third trip to the plate, in the fifth inning, he connected with a 148 kilometer-per-hour sinker from Jhoulys Chacin for a two-run homer over the left field fence. The Rockies pitcher has 81 MLB career wins.

It was Ohtani's second home run of the spring training season and his first in three games.

Ohtani finished the game with one hit, two RBIs and one walk.

His batting average stands at .286 after seven pre-season games, with two homers and five RBIs. He is expected to take the mound for the second time on Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
