The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says 7,395 new cases of coronavirus infection and four deaths were reported on Saturday. The case count is about the same as a week ago. The seven-day average through Saturday stands at 7,622.4, which is 21.5 percent greater than the previous seven-day period, marking the fifth straight day of increase. The number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines in the capital stands at 32, up two from Friday.
