Chinese authorities reported 13,146 community transmissions of COVID-19 across the country, including infected people without symptoms, on Saturday. A record 8,226 new cases were confirmed in Shanghai.
                
The city authorities divided Shanghai in two and began to implement a lockdown in phases on March 28.
