The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights says at least 1,417 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion. The figure includes 121 children.
The civilian casualty update released on Sunday presents the latest data confirmed between February 24 and April 2.
OHCHR says 468 deaths were reported in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. It also says 949 deaths were reported in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Kherson and other regions.
The office reports that 2,038 civilians were injured, with most of the civilian casualties caused by explosive weapons, including shelling, missile and air strikes.
It believes that the actual numbers are considerably higher, as they do not include figures from the southeastern city of Mariupol and other locations subjected to intense hostilities.
It maintains that many reports are still awaiting corroboration.
