Russia's communications regulator Roskomnadzor has demanded that Wikipedia remove some information about the country's military activities in Ukraine. Roskomnadzor claimed in a statement on Tuesday that the website has been posting materials that contain "false information about the special military operation in Ukraine". The regulator warned that Wikipedia could be fined up to 4 million rubles, or about 48,000 dollars, if it fails to comply. The Russian government has been restricting the use of social networks in an attempt to limit access to information related to the invasion of Ukraine. Last month, a law took effect that set penalties including prison terms of up to 15 years for individuals who are deemed to have intentionally spread false information about Russian military activities.
